People's Credit Union Small Business Collective Launch

Small Business Collective Launches to Cultivate Connection and Empower Entrepreneurs Across Rhode Island

A new resource for small business development has officially launched in Rhode Island. Small Business Collective (SBC), a newly established nonprofit, is proud to announce its formation and the appointment of Mollie Frazer Williams as its Executive Director.

Based in Middletown with statewide programming planned, Small Business Collective will offer collaborative workspace, community-centered events, and authentic engagement opportunities designed to help small businesses of all stages and industries succeed. By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, SBC ensures that entrepreneurs have access not only to the tools they need to grow, but also to a network of peers and mentors who believe in the power of collaboration.

SBC was launched as an initiative of People’s Credit Union, whose Purpose is to be a catalyst for positive change in the community. While operating as its own nonprofit, Small Business Collective is currently supported by People’s Credit Union, and the long-term goal is for SBC to become fully self-sustaining as an independent organization.

“Our vision is to create a vibrant ecosystem of small businesses driving innovation and prosperity in the community,” said Sean Daly, Head of People’s Credit Union. “By bringing together entrepreneurs and purpose-aligned partners, SBC will serve as a catalyst for inclusive economic development across Rhode Island.”

Leading Small Business Collective is Mollie Frazer Williams, an experienced leader in Rhode Island’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Prior to joining SBC, Williams served as Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce, where she created and expanded programs such as the Founders Dinners, the Innovation Crawl, the Industry Spotlight Series, and Blue Tech Talks at Innovate Newport.

“What really stood out to us about Mollie is how naturally she aligns with our Purpose,” said Sean Daly, Head of People’s Credit Union. “Her collaborative style, creative mindset, and passion for small business growth make her the ideal leader to build and grow Small Business Collective.”

As Executive Director, Williams will lead the organization’s strategic, operational, and financial efforts. She will oversee programming, partnerships, fundraising, community engagement, and facility operations to ensure alignment with SBC’s mission and support long-term sustainability.

“I’m honored to help launch this vital initiative,” said Williams, Executive Director of Small Business Collective. “Small businesses are the heart of our communities. SBC is about more than workspace – it’s about cultivating a culture of connection and collaboration so that entrepreneurs of all backgrounds don’t have to do it alone.”

Currently in its early stages of development, Small Business Collective is welcoming its first members and developing its initial slate of programming. Entrepreneurs, partners, and community members interested in getting involved are encouraged to reach out directly.
