Rhode Island Non-Profits Awarded $151,471 by Bristol County Savings Bank


Bristol County Savings Bank’s Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF) awarded grants totaling $151,471 to 18 non-profit organizations in the greater Providence, Rhode Island region during a ceremony held recently at the Providence Marriott Downtown. All total, including the Taunton/Attleboro and SouthCoast, Massachusetts regions, the Foundation donated $404,421 to 45 charitable organizations. Since the Foundation was formed in 1996, more than $35 million has been committed to hundreds of different non-profits in the communities the Bank serves.  In 2024, the Foundation awarded a record $2.9 million to various 501(c)(3) organizations.
 
The local organizations that received grants from the Foundation are as follows:
Rhode Island Community $151,471 – ACE Mentor Program Rhode Island ($2,500), Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy ($15,000), Books Are Wings ($7,500), Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket ($15,000), Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island ($10,000), Camp Ruggles ($3,000), Crossroads Rhode Island ($10,000), Federal Hill House ($10,000), Generation Citizen ($5,000), Genesis Center ($2,500), Junior Achievement of Rhode Island ($5,000), Refugee Dream Center ($2,500), Rhode Island Black Business Association ($10,000), Rhode Island Free Clinic ($5,000), Sojourner House ($10,000), The Arc of Blackstone Valley ($9,971), The Empowerment Factory ($3,500) and YWCA Rhode Island ($25,000).
 
John Silva, President of the Foundation and President & CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank, awarded the grants to the organizations. Also participating in the event were Don Grebien, Mayor of the City of Pawtucket, BCSCF Board Members and representatives from the Bank’s area branches.

“In keeping with the Bank’s mission of supporting our local neighborhoods to meet the growing needs of the population, our Foundation is proud to grant more than $150,000 to these deserving non-profit organizations that we can count on to do good work in the greater Providence, Rhode Island community,” said Silva.
 
Bristol County Savings Bank is an active supporter in the communities in which it serves. The Foundation was established in 1996 as part of the Bank’s 150th Anniversary celebration.  Its purpose is to fund needs that contribute to the economic and the social well-being of the people and institutions located in the greater Taunton/Attleboro region, the greater New Bedford/Dartmouth region, the greater Fall River region and greater Providence, Rhode Island region, with particular emphasis in the areas of education and literacy, economic development and housing for the low- to moderate-income population.

The Rhode Island Black Business Association in Providence recently received a $10,000 grant from Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB) through its Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF).
