Robinson+Cole Again Attains Mansfield Rule Certification Plus

Robinson+Cole announced that it has once again achieved Mansfield Certification Plus from the Diversity Lab. This marks the firm’s sixth consecutive year of certification, and the third consecutive “Plus” designation. The latter designation recognizes firms that have made all advancement processes transparent and accessible, demonstrating a measured progress in increasing inclusivity.

“Achieving Mansfield Certification Plus for a third consecutive year—and maintaining our general certification for six years— reflects Robinson+Cole’s unwavering commitment to building a workplace where inclusion is not just encouraged, but expected,” said Rhonda Tobin, the firm’s Managing Partner. “This certification is more than a recognition; it is an expression of our culture. We remain focused on opening clearer paths to leadership and ensuring every individual feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.”

In 2019, Robinson+Cole was among the early adopters of Mansfield, a year-long structured certification process developed and facilitated by Diversity Lab, designed to ensure all qualified talent at participating law firms have a fair and equal opportunity to be considered for advancement into leadership roles. The focus emphasizes “opening the door wider” and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive for everyone. The “Plus” designation indicates that Robinson+Cole has not only taken steps to increase inclusivity in leadership, but the firm has made measured progress in doing so.

Robinson+Cole is currently participating in Mansfield 9.0 for 2025-2026 and will be undergoing its seventh evaluation process to maintain certification. In addition to recommitting to Mansfield Certification, the firm is a member of the Mansfield “Next Gen” pilot program, a three-year commitment to track and monitor additional pathways to leadership. Robinson+Cole has also adopted Diversity Lab’s “Disability Inclusion Commitments,” which are actions proven to broaden inclusion for people with disabilities.

Beyond the firm’s continued support of Diversity Lab initiatives, Robinson+Cole was among the top-ranked law firms in the “2025 Best Law Firms To Work For” category as part of Vault’s Top Ranked Law Firms. The rankings derive from Vault’s Annual Associate Survey, where over 18,000 associates anonymously rated and commented on various aspects of their work lives. Robinson+Cole achieved Top 10 rankings in five categories: fourth in Best Law Firms for Women, seventh in Integration of Laterals & Clerks, eighth in Technology & Innovation, and tenth in both Best Law Firms for People of Color and Overall Inclusion. The firm also ranked highly in the diversity categories of Individuals with Disabilities, LGBTQ+ Individuals, and Transparency and Wellness.

Additionally, Robinson+Cole was once again named one of the best law firms to work for in U.S. News & World Report's 2025 U.S. News Best Companies to Work For: Law Firms list, highlighting organizations excelling in work-life balance, belonging, and professional development. The firm was also once again recognized in Best Companies Group’s “2025 Top Inclusive Workplaces” and has been among the Hartford Business Journal’s “Best Place to Work in Connecticut” for ten years.
