Robinson+Cole Intellectual Property + Technology group partner Jacqueline Pennino Scheib has accepted an invitation to serve on the American Red Cross’ National Philanthropic Board (NPB) as a representative of the Northeast Division.
Members of the NPB work directly with Red Cross executives and volunteers from the national to chapter level, playing a key role in helping the organization meet fundraising goals to deliver critical services to people during their darkest hours. NPB members are also important connectors and influencers to achieve board development initiatives. Scheib was identified to join the group of forward-thinking philanthropic leaders given her long-term support of the Red Cross.
“I’m proud and grateful to be given the opportunity to serve this world-renowned organization on a national level,” said Scheib. “I look forward to applying the knowledge and experience I’ve acquired as a leader of the Connecticut Chapter to best aid the American Red Cross’ mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies.”
Scheib has been a dedicated member of Connecticut’s Board of Directors for a decade. Since 2020, she has chaired the chapter’s Philanthropy Committee, a position she will continue serving in alongside her new role on the NPB. A highlight of Scheib’s work with the Committee is spearheading the annual “Sound the Alarm?then?Join the Party: Networking for Impact” event, an important fundraiser that hosts a key group of supporters to benefit the Red Cross’ Sound the Alarm home fire campaign. This initiative, driven by Red Cross volunteers, fire departments, and other partners, saves lives by providing free smoke alarms and home fire safety education to those in need.
Scheib also belongs to the organization’s Tiffany Circle – a community of women leaders who advance the Red Cross mission through a focused investment of time, talent and treasure by engaging women locally, nationally and internationally.
“As a result of Jackie’s steadfast engagement and expertise, I am delighted to welcome her to our National Philanthropic Board,” said Anne McKeough, Chief Development Officer of the American Red Cross. “Her dedication as a member of the regional board, and her personal commitment to the Tiffany Circle, empowers our critical work down the street, across the country, and around the world.”
Scheib is a former chair of Robinson+Cole’s Intellectual Property + Technology group with more than two decades of experience helping national and international companies preserve their intellectual property, leverage their technology assets, and achieve their business goals. Among her recent distinctions, she was recognized as an Intellectual Property Attorney of the Year Finalist as part of Law.com's 2024 New England Legal Awards and listed in The Best Lawyers in America© as Hartford Lawyer of the Year in the area of Trademark Law for 2024 and 2022. Scheib is also a member of the board of the Connecticut Technology Council and holds a subcommittee leadership role with the AIPLA IP Transactions Committee.
Robinson+Cole is a long-time Ready 365 Giving Circle corporate member of the Red Cross, a select group of businesses that pledge ongoing donations to ensure the organization is prepared to respond to disasters of all sizes, 365 days a year, by providing immediate aid and support to those in need.
