TEDxURI brings big ideas to the world stage through the inspirational voices and performances of our community and beyond. Our presenters challenge us to think bigger than ourselves, participate in shaping the future, and do our part in protecting the planet. Our mission is to honor these ideas, and share powerful stories of imagination, innovation, and integrity that will inspire others to Think Big.

The theme

At each event, TEDxURI brings people together around a theme: a common thread between speakers and a catalyst that helps shape the conversations we have that day.

For 2026, the theme is Now That’s Funny.

Is it funny ha ha… or funny strange? Do you have a unique view of something that you want to share that is funny, strange, humorous, odd, weird, amusing, suspicious, unusual, wondrous, unwell, or…?

We’re not auditioning for comedians; we don’t expect one-liners or stand-up routines. But if you have a unique perspective that would be illuminating, exciting, enlightening, and entertaining for our audience AND specifically addresses our theme “Now That’s Funny,”  well, we want you to audition! Your perspective is what makes our event unique. Your ideas have the power to influence and entertain.

Application submission is open Nov 1-30, 2025 – presenters will be announced in December
