Cloud SysOps Administrator

Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Cloud SysOps Administrator. This is a full-time, calendar-year, continuing position.

The Cloud SysOps Administrator plays a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting the cloud and infrastructure technologies that power Rhode Island College's academic and administrative operations. This position manages cloud platforms, enterprise systems, automation, security, monitoring, and disaster recovery solutions while supporting cloud migration and modernization initiatives. Working collaboratively with campus stakeholders and Information Technology Services teams, the Cloud SysOps Administrator helps ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical systems while advancing the College's cloud strategy and delivering innovative technology solutions that support its academic and administrative mission.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of six year’s experience in the design, installation and maintenance of computer systems, server administration, cloud technology, SysOps/DevOps engineering of which two years’ experience shall be in the area of cloud services technical support.

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field.

• Demonstrated experience in Linux server/system administration.

• Demonstrated experience and fluency in networking, security, high-availability, and disaster recovery concepts as these relate to cloud platforms.

• Demonstrated experience in production and maintenance of technical documentation, both for internal users, as well as for external communication.

• Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating, and implementing technical projects and initiatives.

• Demonstrated experience in coordinating with vendors and other third-parties.
