Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Student Success Advisor (Interim). This is a full-time, calendar year, temporary position.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Student Services, the Student Success Advisor conducts outreach to students who previously attended Rhode Island College (RIC) and left without having completed their degree. The Student Success Advisor provides comprehensive support to undergraduate students to promote academic success and persistence from pre-matriculation through graduation. This role involves proactive outreach, individualized advising, and coordination of the process of re-enrollment to finish their degree. The Student Success Advisor also supports the Office of Academic Advising with a caseload of first- and second-year undergraduate students at Rhode Island College and students navigating academic standing.

The college serves approximately 6,600 undergraduate and graduate students through its five schools: The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience working with students.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in college student personnel services, higher education, counseling or a related field.
Academic advising experience.
Experience working with college policy, college curriculum, academic coaching and campus resources in an advising setting.
Be proficient in student record systems, preferably Peoplesoft.
Experience with retention software and data analysis, preferably Starfish.
Bilingual in English / Spanish (verbal and written).
3+ years working in an academic advising setting.
Proposed starting salary: $54,000-$56,000
