Preservation Society Offers Children’s Activities at All Properties in July and August

Two summer program series for kids – "Traveling Tuesdays" and "Thursdays in the Garden" – will offer activities in the inspiring settings of the Newport Mansions and Green Animals Topiary Garden.

“Traveling Tuesdays” will occur each Tuesday from July 8 through August 19 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Each week, the program will take place at a different Preservation Society of Newport County property, where children will learn a little bit about history and connect their crafts and other activities to the properties.

“Thursdays in the Garden” will take place from July 10 through August 21 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth. Children will enjoy the outdoor space and gardens and learn about nature.

These programs are targeted to children ages 5 to 7 years old plus caregivers. Older and younger siblings are also welcome.

Participation is free for Family-level members of the Preservation Society. For others, there is a small fee to cover materials costs. Advance registration is required.
