Assistant Professor of First-Year Writing

Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of First-Year Writing. This is a full-time, academic year, 3- year limited position.

The Assistant Professor of First-Year Writing will join a vibrant, student-centered community of faculty who teach a variety of FYW courses, including corequisite courses and courses specifically designed to engage with multilingual writers.  As a program, we are committed to advancing our students’ rhetorical awareness, engaging them in process-based writing, and assisting them as they discover their communicative powers.

Required qualifications:

  • PhD or ABD in Writing Studies or closely related field.   

  • A minimum three years teaching writing at the postsecondary level. 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bilingual

Minimum Salary for Terminal Degree: $65,264
