Senior Project Manager

Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Senior Project Manager. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.

The individual will provide project management services to the College community for the implementation of a variety of capital and renewal projects on campus, including new construction, renovation, deferred maintenance and other projects as assigned.

Rhode Island College is a regional comprehensive public college that serves approximately 6,400 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students through its five schools: the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Established in 1854, we are Rhode Island’s first public institution of higher education. The college is located on a beautiful 180-acre suburban campus in the vibrant city of Providence, and has satellite locations at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center in Providence’s Innovation District and the Rhode Island College Workforce Development Hub in Central Falls, RI. The Capital Projects department is responsible for the planning, design and construction of all major capital projects on campus, as well as many facilities improvements throughout campus.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years of cumulative experience in project management, including experience with planning, design, and construction.
  • Experience to include management of building renovations and/or new buildings with construction values greater than $5 million. 
  • Experience working as an owner’s representative in a college or university setting, or other large, diverse, institutional or campus setting.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a related field. 
  • Industry certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager" (CCM), LEED Green Associate, or other related. 
  • Experience using computer project scheduling systems (MS Project experience).
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish (fluent in speaking and writing).
