Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Chemistry. This is a continuing tenure-track, academic year, full-time position.

The Physical Sciences Department at Rhode Island College consists of 7 chemists and 5 physicists and offers undergraduate degrees in both chemistry and physics. In the chemistry program, we offer a BA and an ACS-certified BS with concentrations in biological and professional chemistry. Our chemistry faculty span all major subdisciplines. We teach a wide range of students, including majors from chemistry, biology, secondary education, and nursing, as well as general education students. Our newly renovated and expanded physical sciences building will open in 2025.

Established in 1854, Rhode Island College is a teaching-focused, primarily undergraduate, mid-sized state institution of about 6400 students located in a suburban setting in Providence. We serve and celebrate a diverse student population in which over 40% of the undergraduates are students of color and over 45% are the first in their family to attend college. The College boasts an engaged faculty community and a proud tradition of shared governance. Recently, RIC was federally designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). As a small state in New England, Rhode Island has much to offer, with beaches, wooded areas, and the cultural and academic resources found in Providence and nearby Boston and New York.
