Assistant Project Director Upward Bound Program (TRIO)

Rhode Island College invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Project Director Upward Bound Program (TRIO).  This is a grant funded position and is renewable contingent upon continued funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
 
The Assistant Project Director will assist the director with all aspects of the TRIO Upward Bound Program administration in the Center for Scholar Development. The Upward Bound Program serves 150 students each year. The Assistant Project Director will ensure that the advising and support services align with the U.S. Department of Education requirements. The Assistant Project Director will provide academic, and career advising for eligible students and coordinate the work/mentoring component of the summer program. The Assistant Project Director will create a structure of academic tutoring support for participants, which may include working with campus partners as well as hiring, training, and evaluating tutors to facilitate academic support. This position will also ensure the regular monitoring and maintenance of the program database (Blumen), which includes updated progress notes, eligibility information at intake, and tracking academic standing on a semester basis. The Assistant Project Director will be responsible for coordinating recruitment aligned with grant objectives. The Assistant Project Director will make the appropriate recommendations to the Project Director (based on advisor and student feedback) on how to continually improve program services.
